I just love to buy. So, logically, I should be laughing at thoses anti-consumerism faces everytime I sense the "no shopping" day coming, but I don't. First of all, because I don't "really" mind about this matter. The fact is that I don't see the connection between "not buying anything" and "stop being materialist". We lived in a society that forge us as customers, and even if I despite the fact to see, everyday, stupid advertising commercials (don't get me wrong, I'm just talking about those I don't like), it's for a so tiny part : I'd rather live in an utopic commercial society in which meaningless, however, interesting arts form could be an harassment just like the commecials are in our everyday society.

About 60% of information in our society is provided visually. Does it really mean that the meaning have to be so idealized ? Do I have to suffer the view of healthy gorgeous intelligent people having fun, be in a romance, a good flat, or a good life ? Well, it's the basics, all right, BUT, why does "they" (you know, "the others", those who are from the other side of the island tv) have to seem purposeless, charismaticly empty, and so annoying ? Why do advertisers still think that to make us buy something, they have to make us believe it could change our very lives for something SO beautifull ?

Anyway, as a bitter being, I didn't think I could fall in this kind of trap again. However...
It just happens. I got a wonderfull DAP, and I tend to think that someday, thank's to this device, I could take pictures (yes, it also takes pictures) of interesting subjects, record (yes, it is also capable of video recording) interesting glimpses of my life.
Just because it says "With the brand new (<-optional) XXXX (<-insert any cool electronic device name), your (<-optional) life is/will be very exciting/enjoyable/cool/fun/toaster".
"toaster" could seem strange at first sight, but it's not hard to find some ads with weird words associations. Look: "Your life is so Toyota/Sony/Pepsi". See ? You find it strange ? Or better, when the trademark is not here, but neither the very meaning of the catch-up thingy: "Become what you are". What the fuck do Nietszche have to do with sportswear ?

So, just to say that even if I'm against visual pollution made by advertisers, I still want to be informed about new thing I'm interest in. Even if I dream of a society where you could enjoy "fine" music (i.e: songs with lyrics full of deep means) in the tube/bus, see beautiful visual arts on large display panels, in the streets, I still can find sometimes, an ad funny, beautiful (just that), or mindblowing (pretty rare). And so, even if ads wheren't so dumb, I'll still have to admit that fight look hopeless. Legally at least. So, when a bunch of people slighty change the very meaning of an ad to make it look dumber, or to spread an harmless message (like "let's help the poors we don't want to be") instead of some kind of obscur subliminal orders ("1000 musics in your Ipoud nano. Your ears will thank you"), I just love it.

Just as much as I love buying stuff on Amazon. It's clearly a contradiction, but I'm not only made of principles.
Well, I'm an human after all.
